August LifeSoup Newsletter: How to Harness the Power of an Insult, and more

I was once fired from a hula hooping gig at a nightclub. The talent agency I worked for forwarded to me an email from the management: “We’re looking for pretty girls who can dance.”

Long story short, after crying for several days I ended up writing a novel that had a temporary title of “A Pretty Girl Who Can Dance.” It took time, courage, and grit, but I learned how to turn this terribly hurtful situation into something that now inspires everyone who reads the novel that was born from it.

I believe you can do something similar – when we take our pain and channel it into art, it empowers us, heals us, changes us, and changes others. You can read more about my experience here, and see how it can inspire you or someone you know.

On a lighter note, it took me 44 years on this planet to learn that you don’t need a fancy popcorn popper – or even oil – to make air-popped popcorn. I tried this crazy-easy method myself and will never look back again. Making it this way is much healthier and is just as easy and delicious as your traditional popcorn methods. I explain more in this post (click here) on how to make air-popped popcorn the easy way.

I hope you’ve found inspiration or at least a fun new way to snack. 🙂 Who knows – maybe my story will help you or someone you know be able to turn around a negative situation. We’re all in this together, after all.

Until next time,

Cherie Dawn

What an inspiring story. It’s so cool to see you turn your pain into something great, and it gives me hope against my own painful moments in life. Thanks for sharing!
