Happy 2021, everyone! Recently I had the honor of leading students through a goals and intentions retreat at East Cincy Yoga in Ohio (USA). As a thank-you for being a part of the LifeSoup community, I’m giving you free access to a helpful worksheet I created (download it here). Use this to reflect on your goals for 2021 and beyond, and let me know how it helps or inspires you by commenting below.

I also have some exciting announcements about projects that recently came to life. The first is in regards to a new eBook that I proudly co-authored with two others. The title says it all: “From Meditation to Creation: 9 Guided Meditations for Creative Writing.” It includes our reflections on what meditation means to us (more on that below), as well as how to effectively use the eBook for your own practice with the meditations we wrote for you:

The next announcement is that I’ve been invited to be a regular guest on the long-standing podcast Art Chats with Linda Riesenberg Fisler. Our goal for this year is to create a community where creatives can come together to share our successes and challenges so that we can support each other through the ever-changing world of being some type of “maker.” I hope you listen to the first podcast we recorded, which is on staying creative throughout the pandemic and much more.

What Meditation Means to Me
It’s no secret that yoga is a life-changing practice. One of the ways it has brought me more happiness is through meeting more like-minded people who are on similar quests to things like self-improvement, inner peace, world peace, and more. (Read more about what meditation means to me here.)

Welcome, 2021. Here’s to new beginnings for us all.

Peace, love, and fire,
Cherie Dawn

P.S.
I recently finished being a juror for a Scholastic essay contest, in which I read and judged about 150 works. I was humbled by the great amount of talent in these young voices, who shared incredible insights and pushed me out of my own comfort zone, as they wrote about experiences that I’ve never known or would normally read about. I’m grateful for this, and hope that you find a way to connect with someone outside of your normal circle as well – it’s a wonderful way to grow.

Also, my friend Amber Hagberg recently published a book that I can’t wait to start using: “My Living Yoga Journal.” Read more about it, including how to get your copy, here.
