I drove home alone at night through the seemingly deserted mountains of Virginia, winding for hours along the highway with few places to stop. Inspired by this road trip, I wrote a sinister short story.
I’m happy to announce that it was picked up by the Wandering Stories podcast, featuring creative writing such as my own. It’s produced by voice actor Elaine Weatherby:
When you’re driving alone at night, away from home, it’s best to know exactly where you are. This story begins on a brisk, winter day in the parking lot of a conference center. The last meeting let out a little early. Snow has collected on car roofs and windows. Our main character is bundled up, and headed home – but will she make it there?
I hope you enjoyed listening to this short story! Stay tuned – I’m in the process of editing my second novel, and have a third one bubbling up as well. Thank you for listening and reading!
