Kicking My Coffee Habit: Day 3

If you missed my first day without coffee, start here…

It was about 8:45am when I realized that I had not yet thought about coffee at all. This is remarkable because I had already been working for a couple of hours.

To back up just a bit, around 6:00am I poured cold water over a fresh slice of lemon and sipped on it throughout the morning. I felt great, and noted that I had even started eating breakfast again this week. (Before, coffee would fill my belly and I wouldn’t be hungry until about 10:30 or 11:00 every morning.) I had a few homemade protein bites (recipe here) to hold me over until lunch. I’m going to continue to monitor my weight and see what changes.

As I write this it’s actually Day 4 without coffee. I’ll admit that I woke at 6:00, took care of our dogs and chickens, read a couple of chapters from a book I’m re-reading – “Autobiography of a Yogi.” It’s raining outside, and I have no obligations until later today, so I went back to sleep on the couch with my dogs until about 10:00am. Was it because I had no caffeine yet? Maybe. But it was nice, and so I’m not worried that I missed out on something else. πŸ™‚
